Delay in construction of the new natural gas infrastructure
Kassel. EUGAL (European Gas Pipeline Link) will reach full transport capacities by the second quarter of 2021. The reason for the new schedule is unforeseen delays in the construction of the new gas infrastructure. The original plan envisaged full commissioning for 1 January 2021.
The first string of EUGAL went into operation on 1 January 2020 and has been transporting natural gas since then. It has a transport capacity of up to 30.9 billion m³ of gas per year. EUGAL’s full capacity of up to 55 billion m³ of gas per year will be available following completion of the second string and the Radeland 2 compressor station.
GASCADE is implementing the EUGAL pipeline project together with the transmission system operators Fluxys Deutschland GmbH, Gasunie Deutschland Transport Services GmbH and Ontras Gastransport GmbH.
